For good and His great glory.
Isaiah speaks of Jerusalem's future in the middle of her present-day demise. A people who have rebelled against God will ultimately be restored and redeemed by the Lord Himself.
Isaiah writes: "For Zion's sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the Lord will name. You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem In the hand of your God." Isaiah 62:1-3
The Lord's restoration and redemption would be for their good and His great glory. As He worked in their midst, the nations would see His righteousness and glory and be drawn to Him.
It's the same for us today. Paul tells us in Romans that we were once slaves to sin, but through Christ we have been set free and are now called to present ourselves as slaves to righteousness. As we live in the freedom and redemption Jesus has given us, our lives become a light that points others toward His glory.
Spend time with Jesus. Let what happens in the quiet overflow into the lives around you. Give the Lord glory for the freedom you are living in, and watch as He uses your life to draw others to Himself.
